The 1985 Sinclair C5 was an electric recumbent vehicle with no roof, limited safety features, and the street presence of a misplaced bathtub. The Science Museum Group says 14,000 were produced, only 4,500 sold, and production stopped in less than a year. Personal mobility had arrived.
